Kerala State Lotteries was established in 1967 to provide employment and supporting the government finance was the first of its kind in India. The function was engineered under the lottery department by the Government of Kerala, after banning all private lotteries. The idea of bringing the lottery system first sprouted the then Finance Minister of the state, Shri. P. K. Kunju Sahib under the Ministry of Finance, (Government of Kerala).
The Lottery Structure of Kerala Lottery
Kerala Lottery has a systematic process to work throughout the year with its weekly lotteries like Win -Win on Monday, Dhanasree on Tuesday, Akshaya on Wednesday, Karunya Plus on Thursday, Bhagyanidhi on Friday, Karunya on Saturday and Pournami on Sunday and some lotteries that circulates in a systematic rhythm in a year like Bumper Lotteries that comes as seasonal. They are Bumper lotteries Vishu, Thiruvonam, Pooja, X’mas- new-year, Monsoon, Summer etc.
More than 4 lakhs people try their luck in Dhanasree Lottery every week to win the highest prize money of 65 lakhs. Costs 40 Rupees only, this lottery comes every Tuesday. The second winner gets 5 lakhs rupees and five third place winners get 1 lakh each.
The Prize Structure of
The first prize is 75, 00,000. 10, 00,000 is the second prize. But the third prize is 1, 00,000 and it will be 5 in number from each series. 45 people can get the fourth prize that is worth of 10000. The participants must claim the prize within 30 days of the announcement of the result.
Documents every winner has to submit when claiming the prize of
- Photo Id proof- Any of these- Passport/ Driving License/ Voter ID Card
- PAN Card of the person (Winner)
- Residence’s proof- Any of these- Passport/ Driving License/ Voter ID Card
- Two Photographs.
Originals will be needed for verification and all winners have to furnish self attested copies of these at the office where you have to present yourself to claim the prize.
How to Claim Prizes of 1, 00,000 INR or Below
For the prize of RS. 1, 00,000 or under, the winners have to submit the information regarding the win to the lottery district offices or directorate of Kerala state lotteries department. However, winners also need to mention the information of their addresses and signatures in the back of the lottery ticket.
